Judd Waddell, who began his college career as an architecture major, decided to switch his focus into becoming a fashion designer. Waddell began his fashion career at Carolina Herrera, Inc. where he headed the bridal division. Later, he created the “Occasions” bridesmaids line for Jim Hielm Bridal, which led to his becoming Design Director for Galina Bouquet, Inc. At Galina Bouquet, Inc., Waddell launched a successful line for Couture Bridal. In March 2000, he and Tal Recanati founded their own brand named Judd Waddell, where Waddell designed his own line of wedding dresses. Waddell’s dresses are praised for being made of the finest fabrics and laces with attention to shape and detail. Waddell’s architectural background shines through his structured wedding dress designs. He believes his concept of simplicity and flattering sculptural design naturally stems from it.
