Save-the-date cards are becoming very popular, what are save-the-date cards you ask, well save-date-cards are sent out about sixth to nine months prior to the actually wedding date and before wedding invitations are sent. These are great for destination weddings or if you have family from all over, it gives everyone time to plan, book and purchase tickets, but most importantly it lets them know when your wedding will be so they won’t make any other plans that day/weekend, hence Save The Date!  And here are some really fun and different save-the-date cards.

L’OFFICE OPTIMISTE Please Inflate/Save-the-date

This invitation is one of my favorites! L’OFFICE OPTIMISTE created this fun Save-the-date card.  Each guest is sent a deflated balloon that is tied to a letterpress printed card reading: ‘Hello! Please inflate the balloon.” Once inflated, the balloon reveals information and sets a desired tone with humor and fun-filled wedding. LOVE!

Some of those are really cute, the balloon thing isn’t my style but it gets point for originality! My wife-to-be and I actually did a save-the-date video. It was nice, we are creating a website to host it on and then we are having everyone respond with their addresses so we can actually have a current mailing list for invitations =)

Oh, we have our video on Vimeo, we think it’s a great idea if you have good local videographers.
