Sure you can use fresh flowers for your wedding bouquet like the millions of  other brides out there.  However, if you’re looking for a unique touch to your special day, then I highly recommened a button bouquet.  When done right, it can be equally beautiful and will most definitely be remembered by your guests.  How often do you see a button bouquet at a wedding?  Of course it’s also easy to select colors that will match your theme.  Four hole buttons are quite afforadable, no matter where you get them.  Here are some images to help inspire you.

Whenever I think of elegant and detailed wedding gowns, I always think of Oscar De La Renta, Vera Wang, and Elie Saab Couture. But my new favorite designer for bridal gowns has to be Monique Lhuillier. For her Spring 2010 collection, her dresses had such amazing detail, with rhinestones, beaded trim, pearls, and lace. I just wanted to stare at them for hours. Here are some of my favorites.

Wedding Entourage: The Bridesmaids

Your bridesmaids, your favorite girls!  There to help you enjoy your wonderful day of love, joy…and all the stressful planning in between. The best way to show your appreciation and gratitude to them is by getting the perfect bridesmaid dress. When picking out their dresses, don’t do the cliché look and pick something over the top. You don’t want them regretting there decision of accepting. Of course being the bride you want to be the prettiest person at your wedding. But your bridesmaids also represent the wedding ceremony; the wrong dress can change the theme of your wedding entirely. When picking out the dress keep in mind: clean, classy, and elegant. You want your bridesmaids to look stylish and striking, but still have that innocent look.

Don’ts

When choosing the dresses, try and go for something simple and clean. Don’t go over the top, try not to make them look ridiculous in a very loud dress, nothing with too much beadwork or colors. Look for a deep solid color for a romantic effect. Don’t go for white, ivory, peach, or anything close to white. Also the Silhouette should be A-line, princess or sheath; try not to get anything puffy, no ball gowns. 

DIY

Tips:  For a dramatic effect try adding some loose Swarovski crystals or a ribbon around the waist or a beaded appliqué on the dress. If you don’t want to play up the dress, your bridesmaids can wear a custom made Swarovski rhinestone, feathered or ribbon headpiece. The Spring 2010 bridal runways are swarming with new wedding gown trends. A new trend for Spring 2010, are embellished belts. A traditional white dress paired off with a beautiful embellished belt, giving the bride a classic and sophisticated look that will always be in style.

What better way to be chic and unique then to create an embellished belt for your own wedding dress. Best part you’ll save a lot of money and be the only one with it. At M&J Trimming, you can create your own belt using trimmings suchs as : ribbons, rhinestone, rhinestone trim, feathers, lace, pearls, beaded appliques or pendants.

Are you looking for some gift ideas for your bridesmaids as a way to say, “Thank you”?  “Thank you” gifts don’t always have to be expensive and extravagant.  You could try hand making a gift instead.  I think a handmade gift is always more special because the receiver knows you had them in mind when you made it.  Anyone can take their credit card out and buy something at the mall, but a handmade gift is only as many as you make. 

 So here’s a tutorial that you can use to make a braided Swarovski bracelet.  It’s really easy and your bridesmaid can wear it any where and any time of the day.

Materials:

•  Two strands of leather braided cord (Style # 00503).  I have a small wrist, so my strands measured 7 inches each.  You’ll have to measure your wrist and add an extra inch,
• One pair of interlock buckles (Style # 40812)
• 8 pieces of Swarovski sew-on
• Leather needle
• Matching thread
• Unique stitch glue

Instructions: 

1. Take the two strands of leather and lay them on top of each other.  On both ends, either glue them together or stitch them using the needle. 
2. Let the glue dry if you chose to use glue.
3. Taking one end of the braid that’s already stuck together, insert half an inch into the straight end of the buckle. 
4. Fold the braid down and stitch it in place.  Repeat this step on the other end of the braid.
5. Now is the fun part.  Start stitching your sew-ons onto the desired area. 
6. You’re all done.  Now box and wrap it.

A majority of the brides attended after work; which turned out great.  Our custom glove designer, Stacey was also there to meet and greet with the brides.  Overall, it was fun filled with great ideas for that big day.
